




Anthony Eid is a respected public policy leader, advocate, and strategist whose work sits at the intersection of government affairs, public health, community advocacy, and systems change. A first-generation American of Chaldean and Lebanese descent raised in Southeast Michigan, Anthony brings a deep commitment to equity, civic engagement, and community-centered leadership to his role as Senior Director of Public Policy at Community Development Advocates of Detroit.
Before joining CDAD, Anthony served as Chairman of the inaugural Michigan Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission, where he helped lead the historic effort to end gerrymandering in Michigan. Under his leadership, the commission developed fair and representative district maps through one of the most transparent and community-driven redistricting processes in the nation, engaging more than 30,000 residents across the state. His work demonstrated a unique ability to navigate complex constitutional challenges, unite diverse perspectives, and advance equitable solutions that strengthened democratic representation.
Anthony’s passion for justice extends beyond government policy into public health and community wellness. His academic research focusing on homelessness, harm reduction, and innovative care models has been published in respected scholarly journals. A graduate of Wayne State University, he earned two bachelor’s degrees before completing a master’s degree through the School of Medicine. During his time at Wayne State, he served as Student Body President, championing student advocacy, equity initiatives, and institutional change while also taking on numerous leadership, research, and community service roles.
Driven by a belief that policy should improve everyday lives, Anthony works closely with nonprofit organizations, public agencies, and community stakeholders to address the social and economic factors that shape public health outcomes. His evidence-based approach to leadership and advocacy continues to inform his work in building stronger, healthier, and more equitable communities.
Outside of his professional work, Anthony enjoys Detroit sports, cycling, fitness, coffee culture, and gaming.
